And I so appreciate your caveat at the start of this essay. “Them” is “us” and “us” is “them.” It’s only a distinction in who possesses power over others. We are facing off with an unprecedented crisis involving the manipulation and twisting of human consciousness and a perversion of the nature of truth . . . By humans, of humans, to be exposed, resisted, and thwarted by same. Excellent, Steve; gives plenty of reasons for heads-up! with regard to that executive order. A CNN article, April 7, "Jamie Dimon sounds the alarm bell on tariffs", has the following quote which unabashedly shows some of the historical context your article highlights, as well as perhaps revealing inner tensions among the elites: "Dimon, one of the world’s most influential business leaders, said America’s “extraordinary standing” in the world was built on the strength of its economy, military and morals. But tariffs and Trump’s “America First” foreign policy could undermine the United States’ special position in the world." Also to mention the wicked irony that those who have no qualms about trying to obliterate Gaza and the Peoples there and who continue to attempt to further deforest Turtle Island, and the list goes on, are the ones attempting to legislate truth and sanity.

I said no to US hegemony as a college student. Thank God I did. I would feel terrible now that I am learning from First Nations.
