Hi, just a recent discovery while researching my white side (Scot mostly) The Declaration of Independence was modeled after the declaration of arbroth (Scots earlier version about 705 years old now, against the English) I'd attach the text but I can't find it and the image won't paste. Not real computer smart. Just sharing a historical fact I was unaware of while researching my Keith line. You may already know this lol it was news to me. My ancestors Sir Robert Keith signed that declaration. ✌️
I know this is may be an uncomfortable truth but having very quietly passed through the 100 anniversary of the Indian Citizenship Act and all the rhetoric about “elections matter” and the importance of the Native vote, I can’t help but to be more driven towards promoting the rejection of US citizenship.
Since it is clear that countries do not have treaties with their own citizens, the logical conclusion for me is that accepting US citizenship removes the individual doing so as parties to the treaties many cling to. I am not saying the treaties cease to exist; as long as some of us remain who we are. Now I am not trying to hang our entire existence to treaties. I believe most were only an attempt to placate us while their policies worked to render us extinct as distinct peoples. The Marshall trilogy and the legal doctrines they created, the Appropriation Act of 1871 and the Citizenship Act all intended to eliminate us.
I watched the movie once again today in addition to having already purchase the movie a long time ago…but what I really enjoy is the Q& A afterwards of these screenings…and what came to mind today was the talk I heard not to long ago between Steven and Peter how they talked about the different entry points into the Domination System. Now as a Native/Original indigenous single mother I wake up to the System & it’s dominating patterns (millions upon millions) every single day and immediately recognize it in all is myriad of ways and they are crushing…I can go on and on about this but will conclude! Thank you all for holding this space!
